At the Level of Events: Things that Really Happened 

Sonnets:

50-51 – Shake did leave London on occasion: the Puritans closed the theatres, or the plague closed the theatres, or the company was taking the show on the road (the circuit of major coaching inns), or all three. 2

57-58, 99 – Henry Constable also left London on occasion, and sometimes for significant periods of time. A very skilled diplomat, he was sent on missions to various parts of Europe from a very young age and later exiled for his Catholicism.

78, 80 – Other poets were writing to and about Henry Constable (who was widely known beloved, and admired) and imitating his poetry. He published a book of sonnets in 1592 and a second edition, containing his Shakespeare sonnets, in 1594.
