Late Lights is the “talk rock” duo of Chris Locke and Rick Libby. The guys met twenty years ago at Keene State College when Rick asked Chris where the hell he bought his Minor Threat t-shirt. Rick was a guitarist in such classic hardcore bands as LAST BREATH and SPOKE and eventually went on to become a pharmacist. Chris received his MFA from Goddard College and has taught creative writing at both high schools and colleges for over sixteen years. He’s published a bunch of books, many of them poetry—in fact, his most recent collection is Ordinary Gods (Salmon, Ireland, 2017). Chris currently lives in the Adirondacks even though he hates the winter. Go figure. Rick and Chris still share an affinity for the 80’s D.C. music scene and forgive you if you don’t. Mostly…

Late Lights recommends SOS Children's Villages.

Christopher Locke’s writing has appeared in such magazines as The North American Review, Poets & Writers, The Rumpus, The Sun, Poetry East, Verse Daily, Southwest Review, Slice, The Literary Review, West Branch, 32 Poems, The Nervous Breakdown, Saranac Review, and NPR's Morning Edition and Ireland’s Radio One, among others. Locke’s most recent book is Ordinary Gods, (Salmon Poetry—2017), a collection of poems & essays detailing his 25 years of travel throughout Latin America. A book for children, Heart-Flight, (Cedar Grove Publishing), is forthcoming in 2019. He teaches creative writing online at The Poetry Barn and in person at North Country Community College in the Adirondacks.

Rick Libby was a major force in the western Massachusetts hardcore scene of the 80s and 90s as lead guitarist of such classic punk bands SPOKE and LAST BREATH. Rick eventually finished college and went on to become a successful pharmacist and business owner, and lives and works in Montpelier, Vermont.
