Personal notes on painting (2021)
The energy of the mark and material connecting to the surface is the crux of the matter. The forms, bodies, narratives and events that coalesce and congeal from that energy is secondary.
An image can exist with multiple interpretations/readings,multifaceted-in a quantum like state of existing as mark/image/form/recognizability/”this-looks-like-thatness” coalescing into a feeling.
A fusion of figure and landscape-quantum like in a non-fixed position- overlapping, intersection of bodies, landscape, atmosphere into porous, permeable, interrelational streams across a multi scaled system.
