A coffee shop specializing in hot chocolate and a bar named after a ghost are locked in an Instagram feud. Once friends, now estranged, the coffee shop’s post made it official: There is NO more affiliation between us and La Llorona. South Philly residents took the coffee shop in the divorce with its strong espresso and chocolate festival. La Llorona, the vengeful ghost, now haunts the waters of drip-brewed beverages, furious that her loyal patrons were unfaithful. And for what? The best hot chocolate in Philly? Rim Café’s is better she spits, thick voice from forever-weeping. It was spring for two days, with 80 degrees on Wednesday, but now it’s winter again, with snow on Thursday. La Llorona suffers another separation. She curses the streamlets running through cramped streets, dooming those who ignore her warning to avoid the coffee shop. Hot chocolate cups vanish down drainpipes, a punishment for their treachery.
Does anybody know what’s happening at Lombard & Broad?
