On November 18, 2025 poets, playwrights, and friends gathered at Bar Redux in New Orleans to celebrate the release of A Limited Number of Miracles: a walk through the New Orleans Sculpture Garden written by Jonathan Penton and published by Lavender Ink. This is the edited footage from that event.

Laura Mattingly

Laura Mattingly is a confluence of two diasporas, second-generation Lithuanian-American and third-generation Irish-American. She grew up in southern California listening to ABBA and eating Mexican food, floated down the Mississippi River on a raft, and settled in New Orleans in 2007. She is a mother, a barber, a reiki master, and a mental health counselor.

Carolyn Hembree

Carolyn Hembree's third poetry collection, For Today, was published by LSU Press. She has been awarded the Trio Award, the Rochelle Ratner Memorial Award, an ATLAS grant from the Louisiana Board of Regents, and grants and fellowships from PEN, the Louisiana Division of the Arts, and the Southern Arts Federation. She is a professor in the MFA program at the University of New Orleans and serves as the poetry editor of Bayou Magazine. Check out www.carolynhembree.com.

Skye Jackson

Skye Jackson was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her work has appeared in The Southern Review, Electric Literature, Green Mountains Review, RATTLE and elsewhere. Her poetry has been a finalist for the 2023 Iowa Review Poetry Award, the RATTLE Poetry Prize, the RHINO Founders' Prize, and in 2021 she received the AWP Intro Journals Award. Skye's work was also selected by Billy Collins for inclusion in the Library of Congress Poetry 180 Project. Her debut full-length poetry collection, Libre, is published by Regalo Press and distributed by Simon & Schuster. She currently teaches at Xavier University.
